Techniques of cultivating Oyster mushroom by cob

Cob has abundant nutrition. It is estimated that the crude protein content of cob is 1.1 percent, crude fat is 0.6 percent, cruder fiber is 31.8 percent, soluble carbohydrates reaches up to 51.8 percent and it has higher sugar. So, it is a more ideal raw material for cultivating edible fungus and can be used for cultivating various edible fungus. The brief introduction on cultivating technology of Oyster mushroom by cob are included as follows.
1. Quality requirements: superior cob is yellowish white, has no mildew or deterioration.
2. Raw material handling: use common feed grinder or wood slicing grinder to smash, smashed cob should be bean-size or broad bean size.
3. Strain selection: Through comparative tests repeatedly, several Oyster mushroom strains such as Guoping One, Qingfeng One and Sanxia One are suit to be cultivated by cob and has high yield and superior quality.
4. Compost formula: cob 71.8 percent, wheat bran 15 percent, corn flour 5 percent, superphosphate 2 percent, gypsum powder 2 percent, lime powder 4 percent, 0.2 percent of carbendazim should be added. The water content of substrate should be 65 percent and the PH value should be 7 to 8.
